What to include in an inquiry
A short note is enough. The more of this you can send, the faster we can tell you whether we're the right shop:
- Where the site is. County or town is fine. Custom work is site-specific; kits can ship farther.
- What you're building. Cottage, pavilion, sauna, barn, porch, entry, great-room ceiling, or something else.
- Kit or custom. If the Nelson Cottage is close, say so. If you need a frame drawn for this land, say that.
- Timeline. A season is more useful than a date you don't have.
- Drawings, if any. Sketches, architect sets, or photos of the existing house. Send what you have; don't wait for a complete package.
We do not need a full program on the first email. We do need to know whether this is a kit conversation, a custom frame, a raising, or drafting for someone else's shop.
Where we work
We work in central Virginia — Charlottesville and Albemarle, Nelson County, Hanover and the Richmond side, and the Lake Anna / Louisa–Goochland piedmont — and we take custom work in Northern Virginia. What happens next
We'll read what you send, ask the questions the drawings don't answer, and tell you honestly whether a kit, a custom frame, a raising, or a drafting job is the fit. If it isn't, we'll say so.
